The theme of one of the last Slow Art Parties hosted by Amy Maricle of Mindful Art Studio was ‘Evolve’. As I am posting this way later than the session actually took place, I do not remember why it is called Evolve. When I look it up in Google Translate, I read words like develop, make progress, grow, unfold, alter, transformed, spread and such.

I remember drawing one continuous line and not separate circle shapes. Feeling the motion again, I totally understand why Amy called it Evolve: you start with one circle shape, continue on to the next and let it spread out over the page. It can grow in any direction you fancy.

Coloring the images in with watercolours was extra, we don’t always have enough time to do this. I think it gives the images extra depth.

These two little cards are my favorites: I like how the drawing spreads out on the left card and I like the simplicity of the right.
As always these weekly free sessions are wonderful, Amy is a lovely teacher. Check out her website for more information.
