Photowalk on the beach of Zandvoort

Afgelopen zondag ben ik naar het strand in Zandvoort geweest met een vriendin die daar woont. Het was er ontzettend druk natuurlijk, vooral aan de waterrand. Ik merkte dat ik het moeilijk vond om iets te “zien” in de drukte zonder mensen het gevoel te geven dat ik mijn camera op hen richtte, dat beperkte me in mijn vrijheid. Op een gegeven moment stonden we een tijdje stil op de eerste zandbank en daar kon ik ontspannen, rustig ademhalen en kalm om mij heen kijken.
Last Sunday I went to the beach of Zandvoort with a friend of mine who lives there. It was crowded of course especially at the shoreline. I noticed that I found it difficult to “see” something in the crowd without giving people the feeling that I was aiming my camera at them, that constrained me in my freedom. At some point we were just standing still on the first sandbank and there I could relax, breath calmly and quietly look around me.
