Today I went to The Hague for a combined visit: I wanted to see a friend and to go to Imagerie Old Prints, a tiny vintage and antique shop close to the city centre. I go there once a year to stock up on cabinet cards and antique letters.
I had let the owner know beforehand that I’d come so she had laid out a few things that she knew I was interested in. It took me hours to go through the stuff not only what she had laid out for me, but also what else what is in the shop. And she has everything old: old books, stamps, letters, notary letters, maps, cards, cabinet cards, floor plans, alphabets, family photos, photo books and other stuff I didn’t even know existed.
This kind of shop is heaven to me. As far as I know this doesn’t exist (anymore) in Amsterdam, at least not with the affordable prices she charges.
So next time you go to the The Hague, drop her a visit and tell her I said ‘hi’.
