This week’s theme of the Slow Art Party was ‘Innovate’: we could choose a pattern we liked (I chose a really simple wiggly shape) and innovate it in any way we liked, meaning drawing it in a certain shape (I chose an oval), cutting it out (I cut out the inside of the oval and not the white space around the oval as Amy did) and doing something extra with it (I stitched around the sides with a sewing machine). I also combined it with an earlier pattern ‘Bubbles’. The cut-out shapes are working like a view finder and focus on the intersection of the bubbles on each card.
The weekly free Slow Art Parties are hosted by Amy Maricle of Mindful Art Studio.
