Just like colour texture has no meaning, but it is more subtle to perceive.
Texture is all around us, but often we don’t have any clue beyond ‘smooth’ or ‘rough’.
It is about feeling-seeing, the feeling of surfaces in imminent surroundings:
from the roughness of a wall to the shining smoothness of a car parked in the street.
Textuur heeft net als kleur geen betekenis, maar het is subtieler om waar te nemen.
Textuur is overal, maar we komen vaak niet verder dan ‘zacht’ of ‘ruw’.
Het gaat bij texturen om voelend-zien, het voelen van de oppervlaktes in de directe omgeving:
van de ruwheid van een muur tot de glanze gladheid van een auto die geparkeerd staat in de straat.
