Art Journal Advent 2025

Cover of my art journal made with a Flow magazine

This year I participated in the Instagram challenge Art Journal Advent which is hosted by Tamara Gem and Michelle Schratz. They have organized this challenge for the past five years. I have participated before, but haven’t completed all the prompts. This year I thought it was fun to use one of my art journals made out of old issues of Flow Magazine. You can read about them in this post. I love the cover of this issue, but it didn’t have a lot of visual interest on the inside.

The theme for this year’s Art Journal Advent was Offline. The reason for that was that they felt that things were so loud and overwhelming lately. From December 1–24 they shared simple daily prompts – gentle invitations to slow down, make something, and breathe a little deeper. “No tutorials – less social media – no pressure – more creative play. A calm, offline December to reconnect with your creative voice.” So I shared nothing on a daily or even weekly basis, just a reel on insta at the end of the year. Below are my favorite art journal pages I made in the challenge.
