Het lijken net schilderijen maar het zijn digitaal bewerkte foto’s: de beelden van de Belgische Isabelle Menin zijn kleurrijk, schilderachtig en fantasievol. Na het voltooien van de Ecole de Recherche Graphique (ERG) in Brussel, werkte ze 10 jaar in de grafische vormgeving en als illustrator op het gebied van schilderen. De natuur is altijd een terugkomend thema voor de kunstenaar vooral bloemen. Na een aantal exposities in België besloot ze het schilderen vaarwel te zeggen en begon ze met digitale fotografie. Foto’s nemen, scannen van stukken uit de natuur, de kunstenaar speelt voortdurend met texturen en kleuren, verandert ze, mixt ze met als doel een fictieve natuur vorm te geven, compact en tegelijkertijd flamboyant. Her images look like paintings, but they are in fact digital manipulated photographs: the images of Isabelle Menin are colourful, painterly and fanciful. After graduating from the Graphic Research School (ERG) in Brussels, she has explored painting for 10 years while working in graphic design and illustration. Nature has always been a recurring theme for the artist, particularly flowers. After exhibiting several times in Belgium, Isabelle Menin decided to abandon painting to turn to digital photography. Taking pictures, scanning pieces of nature, the artist constantly plays with textures and colours, transforming them, mixing them, in order to give shape to a fictional nature, dense and flamboyant at the same time.
