We gingen naar het carnaval in Venetië zowel om gezien te worden als ook om andere kostuums te bekijken. Niet iedereen echter loopt in kostuum; op het San Marcoplein zie je ook veel mensen die zich komen vergapen aan al het moois. Onderstaande foto’s heb ik genomen met mijn pocket cameraatje, toen wijzelf in kostuum rondliepen. Ik merk toch eigenlijk iedere keer weer dat dat een onhandige combinatie is, ik kan beter een van de twee met volle aandacht uitvoeren. Maar goed, het geeft een indruk van de sfeer en de kostuums.
We went to the carnival in Venice to be seen as well as to look at other people’s costumes. Not everyone is in costume though; there are a lot of people at the San Mark square who are just gaping at all the splendor. I took the pictures below with my pocket camera while we were in costume ourselves. Every time I notice that that is not a good combination, I’d better perform one of the two with full attention. Anyways, it gives an impression of the mood and the costumes.
